Dewatering

During the forming process, the stock has to be dewatered in away which an even fibre network is be created. A web isformed.

The main factor are influences the dewatering process:

  • Concentration. If a higher concentration in the head box is chosen, the amount of water leaving the stock decreases and the forming takes place more quickly. However, the increased concentration makes it more difficult to form the sheet.
  • Temperature. The higher the temperature is, the lower the water viscosity will be and the faster the stock will drain.
  • Chemical substances. Adding a retention chemical is another way to increase the drainage rate.
  • Design of the wire section. Dewatering in two directions is always faster than in one.
